Beyonce performed “Run The World (Girls)” at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards and proved she is the queen of the pop world.
Before the singer hit the stage, Michelle Obama, Barbra Streisand, Lady Gaga, Bono and Stevie Wonder all paid tribute to her, expressing what a positive influence she has had on women all over the world.
Then, Queen B pulled out all the stops for her performance. Dressed in silver, she mostly danced by herself. But before the song’s conclusion, she was joined by an army of backup dancers for a stellar finale.
After the performance, she was honored with the 2011 Billboard Millennium Award for her career achievements. She thanked Destiny’s Child and added an extra-sweet thank you for her husband, Jay-Z.
“I don’t want to put you on the spot because I know they’re probably putting the camera in your face right now, but I love me some Jay-Z,” she gushed.
